Fire Training

Since The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 was introduced, it has been a legal requirement for all businesses which employ more than 5 members of staff, to undergo fire training.
For years we have been running fire training courses for doctors and dental surgeries, various building companies, laboratories, engineering firms, blue chip companies and many other types of business.

We offer Basic Fire Training as well as Fire Marshall & Fire Warden Training Courses.
The Basic Fire Training Course is the minimum legal requirement.

The Basic Fire Extinguisher Course 
Our Basic Fire Extinguisher Course comprises of a brief introduction by the instructor followed by a short film (covering various aspects of fire), a questionnaire (based on the film), a short talk, hands on use of fire extinguishers and then a brief summary.

This Course duration is 1 hour.

Minimum number of people required – 5 (certain exceptions maybe considered)
Maximum number of people allowed – 20 (certain exceptions maybe considered)

Fire Warden or Fire Marshall
Our Fire Warden or Fire Marshall Training Course is more advanced and covers more topics in depth such as: Means of escape, Fire Signage, Extinguisher Types, Fire Procedure and Evacuation Plan, Raising the Alarm, a more comprehensive questionnaire and more hands on use of Fire Extinguishers.

This Course duration is 3 hours ( if attended basic course).
Maximum number of people up to – 10 (certain exceptions maybe considered)

Taken from The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005: -
Fire Training
(1)The responsible person must ensure that his employees are provided with adequate safety training -
(a) At the time when they are first employed; and
(b) on their being exposed to new or increased risks because of-
(i) their being transferred or given a change of responsibilities within the responsible persons undertaking;
(ii) The introduction of new work equipment into, or a change respecting work equipment already in use within, the responsible person's undertaking;
(iii) The introduction of new technology into the responsible persons undertaking; or
(iv) The introduction of a new system of work into, or a change respecting a system of work already in use within, the responsible person's undertaking.

(2) The training referred to in paragraph (1) must-
(a) Include suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard himself and other relevant persons on the premises;
(b) Repeated periodically where appropriate;
(c) Be adapted to take account of any new or changed risks to the safety of the employees concerned;
(d) Be provided in a manner appropriate to the risk identified by the risk assesment; and
(e) Take place during work hours
